Get ready to tumble into a world of laughter and second chances! NBC is gearing up to premiere its new comedy, Stumble, starring the incredibly talented Jenn Lyon. The show promises to be a delightful blend of humor and heart, and the first trailer has just dropped!
In Stumble, Jenn Lyon plays Courteney Potter, a woman who, let's just say, experiences a career setback and finds herself leading a junior college cheerleading squad. Her mission? To snag her 15th championship and, perhaps more importantly, make a positive impact on the lives of her squad members. The series is set to premiere on November 7th, so mark your calendars!
But here's where it gets interesting... Stumble boasts a stellar cast, including Taran Killam, Ryan Pinkston, and Kristin Chenoweth in a recurring role. The show is created by the experienced comedy showrunners Liz and Jeff Astrof, and it's designed with a mockumentary style, which often adds a unique layer of humor and realism.
The show is set to follow Happy’s Place on Fridays, forming part of NBC's comedy block this fall. The network is also planning to air The Paper, a spinoff of The Office, and The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins, starring Tracy Morgan, will premiere midseason.
Pearlena Igbokwe, Chairman of Television Studios, NBC Entertainment & Peacock Scripted, shared her thoughts, saying, "I do think Stumble is going to be a good companion for Happy’s Place because, while Happy’s is a multi-cam, and Stumble is a single-cam, in terms of sensibility, we think that those shows are similar. I think that both shows present a co-viewing opportunity for the family." This suggests a focus on creating a feel-good atmosphere that families can enjoy together.
Adding to the show's credibility, Stumble has the backing of cheerleading coach Monica Aldama, known for her appearance on the Netflix docuseries Cheer, as an executive producer. Universal Television is the studio behind the production. This collaboration brings a layer of authenticity to the cheerleading aspect of the show.
